Free Smoke Detectors

Posted 06/15/2011, Free smoke detectors are being offered by the Bessemer Fire Department to the Citizens of Bessemer. In an effort to promote fire prevention, one smoke detector per household will be offered to those interested parties. If you would like to to receive a free smoke detector contact the Bessemer Fire Prevention Office at 424-5151.

Fire Department Yellow Dot Program

Posted 06/15/2011, The Yellow Dot Program provides service to all citizens of Bessemer. This program is designed to assist residents and First Responders in the event of an accident or other medical emergencies. The program can save lives by improving communication between accident victims and First Responders; whereby, participants vital medical information is available if they are unable to verbally communicate.  This is a free services provided to individuals of all ages, contact the Bessemer Fire Department for more information at 428-5151.

Bessemer Airport Authority

Posted 06/15/2011, The Bessemer Airport FBO is open and serves the West Jefferson County Regions with the best aviation prices available. The airport has a restaurant called the Hanger which is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am till 9pm and Sunday 12pm til 8pm.
